The Scarpa Maestrale RS is the more performance-oriented version of the Maestrale family, Scarpa’s well-established range of versatile ski touring boots. It follows the same architecture as the Maestrale, with construction and materials designed, according to Scarpa, to provide a higher level of stiffness. Its positioning is aimed at ski tourers looking for a more substantial boot than the lightweight models in the F1 family.
A more performance-oriented Maestrale The Maestrale RS features a three-buckle construction complemented by a power strap at the top of the cuff. The Wave Closure system secures the lower shell by distributing tension around the foot, while the cuff uses its own closure system. The Speed Lock XT ski/walk mechanism releases the cuff during ascents on skins before locking it into ski mode for the descent. The shell and cuff use reinforced materials selected by Scarpa to provide the level of stiffness targeted for this RS version. The boot also features a thermoformable liner, tech inserts for pin bindings and a rubber sole designed for sections on foot. Its architecture remains that of a dedicated ski touring boot, while occupying the more performance-oriented end of the Maestrale family.
Maestrale RS, Maestrale, Gea RS and Gea The Maestrale RS is the stiffer model in the men’s range. The Maestrale follows the same versatile ski touring philosophy with a more moderate stated level of stiffness. The Gea RS and Gea are their women’s counterparts: the Gea RS follows the more performance-oriented positioning of the Maestrale RS, while the Gea represents the more versatile version. With the Maestrale RS, Maestrale, Gea RS and Gea, Scarpa offers a family dedicated to versatile ski touring, distinct from the F1 XT, F1 LT, F1 RS and F1 GT, which are more focused on lightweight touring.
