PRESENTATION OF THE SCARPA 4-QUATTRO: THE HYBRID SKI TOURING BOOT
The Scarpa 4-Quattro is the Italian brand’s freeride touring boot family, featuring a hybrid construction designed for use with both alpine and touring skis. For 2026/2027, the range includes several versions, from the 4-Quattro Pro to the 4-Quattro GT, along with women’s models.
A hybrid freeride touring construction
The 4-Quattro features a four-buckle architecture and Scarpa’s Alpine Axial Hybrid construction, combining an alpine-inspired design with a ski/walk system. The Speed Lock 4 mechanism releases the cuff for walking and provides a stated 61° range of motion. This architecture clearly differentiates the 4-Quattro from the F1 and Maestrale families, which are more focused on traditional ski touring and touring. The Presa SKI-01 sole is compatible with bindings meeting the GripWalk standard, as well as compatible tech bindings. This versatility allows Scarpa to position the 4-Quattro as a hybrid boot for freeride, freeride touring, off-piste skiing and resort use. Construction materials vary depending on the version, with Scarpa notably using Grilamid Bio and Pebax Rnew, along with carbon-reinforced components on certain models. Materials, liners, Power Straps and flex ratings differentiate the various versions within the range.
4-Quattro Pro, Pro SE, SL, GT and women’s versions
The 4-Quattro Pro sits at the top of the main range with a stated 130 flex. It combines a Grilamid Bio shell with a Pebax Rnew cuff and features the Secure Speed Lock 4 system. The Power Strap incorporates Booster technology, while a RECCO reflector completes the equipment. Its stated weight is around 3.1 kg per pair, depending on the reference size. The 4-Quattro SL is the lighter version of the family. Its Pebax Rnew construction is combined with a 120 flex and a lower weight than the Pro. It retains the four-buckle architecture, 61° range of motion and GripWalk compatibility, while a 4-Quattro SL Women version completes the range. The 4-Quattro GT features a 110 flex and offers another level of stiffness and construction within the family. It is also available as the 4-Quattro GT Women. For 2026/2027, the family also includes the new 4-Quattro Pro SE, a specific version of the Pro that expands the top end of the range with its own configuration and finishes while retaining the hybrid 4-Quattro concept.
With the 4-Quattro Pro SE, 4-Quattro Pro, 4-Quattro SL, 4-Quattro GT and their women’s versions, Scarpa offers a comprehensive range of freeride touring boots, differentiated by flex, weight, materials and equipment. All retain the core 4-Quattro philosophy: a hybrid construction with walk mode and GripWalk compatibility, designed for skiers combining resort skiing, freeride and touring on skins.
