The Scarpa Gea RS is a women’s ski touring boot and the more performance-oriented version of the Gea family. As the women’s counterpart to the Maestrale RS, it follows the same versatile touring philosophy, with construction and materials selected by Scarpa to provide a higher level of stiffness than the standard Gea.
A more performance-oriented women’s touring boot The Gea RS features an architecture specifically developed for ski touring, with multiple closure points and a power strap at the top of the cuff. The Wave Closure system secures the lower shell by distributing tension around the foot while reducing the number of buckles. The Speed Lock XT ski/walk mechanism releases the cuff during ascents on skins and locks it back into ski mode for the descent. The shell and cuff use materials selected to match the more performance-oriented positioning of the RS version. The Scarpa Gea RS also features a thermoformable liner, tech inserts for pin bindings and a rubber sole designed for sections on foot. Its overall architecture remains that of a dedicated touring boot, with a more substantial construction than the lightweight models in the F1 family.
Gea RS, Gea, Maestrale RS and Maestrale The Gea RS sits at the top of Scarpa’s women’s touring family, with a higher stated level of stiffness and a more performance-oriented construction. The Gea follows the same overall philosophy in a more accessible configuration and represents the versatile model in the women’s range. For men, the Maestrale RS occupies a comparable position to the Gea RS, while the Maestrale is the more versatile version.
