The Scarpa F1 GT is a ski touring boot from the F1 family, designed to offer a compromise between lightweight, mobility, and construction suitable for touring. It positions itself as a more accessible version of the F1 platform, complementing the F1 XT, F1 LT, and F1 RS, which are more specialized or have different constructions. The F1 GT features an architecture specifically developed for ski touring, with a lightweight shell and a cuff offering a significant range of motion in walk mode. Its ski/walk mechanism allows the cuff to be freed for skinning up and then locked for the descent. The lower shell tightening relies on the BOA system, which uses a dial and cable to adjust the foot’s wrap. The cuff benefits from independent tightening, allowing the adjustment of the lower part of the boot to be separated from the upper part. The Scarpa F1 GT also features a thermoformable liner, inserts compatible with tech bindings, and a rubber sole intended for walking sections. Its positioning remains that of a true touring boot, with a lighter and more minimalist design than the Maestrale and Maestrale RS.
F1 GT, F1 RS, F1 LT, and F1 XT The Scarpa F1 family covers several approaches to lightweight ski touring. The F1 GT is a more accessible version of this range, while the F1 RS adopts a construction more oriented towards the rigidity announced by Scarpa. The F1 LT and F1 XT occupy the lighter and sportier segment of the family, with architectures designed for touring and outings with a lot of positive elevation gain. With the F1 GT, F1 RS, F1 LT, and F1 XT, Scarpa thus extends its F1 family around several levels of construction, weight, and equipment, between classic ski touring and more sporty touring.
