PRESENTATION OF THE VOLKL RISE ABOVE 88
Big change in the Volkl ski touring range. The VTAs become the Rise with three new models in the process. Only the VTA 88 Lite (now Rise 88 High) remains unchanged. The Rise Up 82, the Rise Above 88, and the Rise Beyond 96 are new with a different construction, straight sidewalls, a new skin system… All for only 2380g per pair in 170cm for the Rise Above 88 and 2280g in 170cm for the Rise Up 82. These two models are also available in a women’s version. But that’s not all for Volkl’s new features!
The new Volkl Rise Above 88 is the most versatile touring ski in the new Volkl ski touring range with unmatched performance in both ascent and descent. The Hybrid Tourlite Woodcore offers an impressive combination of minimal weight (1190gr @ 170) and driving stability. The 3D radius sidecut line offers a very resistant tip which is particularly useful when skiing in windblown snow conditions. The sidewall construction offers both agility and maneuverability in narrow passages.
The Rise Above 88 equipped with 3D Radius Sidecut technology is the most versatile ski in the new range of touring skis. Its strengths lie in both its ascent and descent performance. The Tourlite hybrid wood core offers a lightweight (1 186 g for a length of 170 cm) and ensures a glide that is both stable and smooth. The tip of the particularly disturbance-resistant 3D radius design stands out especially in windblown snow conditions.
The sidecut geometry allows for maximum liveliness and maneuverability in narrow passages, while the full-length sidewall enhances the ski’s stability and strength. A more pronounced width underfoot combined with moderate width in the tip and tail areas gives the ski optimized control while allowing the skier to exert less effort, even during hikes with heavy luggage.
The Rise Above 88 is obviously equipped with the Smart Skinclip skin system, which allows the use of Fibre Tech or Smart Glue climbing skins.
