OUR REVIEW OF THE VOLKL RISE UP 82
MANUFACTURER’S OPINION
The Volkl Rise Up 82 touring ski is the top choice for any skier primarily seeking a ski that performs well on the ascent, but also offers very good descent properties. This ski is the first to benefit from the 3D Radius Sidecut technology, which was previously reserved exclusively for Völkl’s freeride and all-mountain models, such as the Kanjo or the Deacon. This type of construction combines three different curvature radii that seamlessly follow one another. The ski’s behavior in turns is thus adapted according to the dominant curvature radius, which depends on the edge angle. The result is a ski that impresses with its particularly smooth glide at high speed and its great resistance to disturbances, even in demanding descent conditions. The particularly lightweight multi-layer wood core allows for the production of a ski with an incredibly reduced weight while offering highly reliable downhill performance. A full-length sidewall gives this ski stability and strength. Additionally, the Rise Up 82 is obviously equipped with the new Smart Skin Clip system and allows the use of Tech Fibre or Smart Glue climbing skins.
