PRESENTATION OF THE LA SPORTIVA KILO
The La Sportiva Kilo is a lightweight ski touring boot designed for skiers looking for a model aimed at big vertical days, fast touring and long days in the mountains. With a weight of around one kilogram per boot depending on the version, it sits between highly minimalist race boots and more versatile touring models. The Kilo uses lightweight materials, including carbon-reinforced Bio-Based Grilamid on the higher-end versions. Its architecture is designed to keep weight low while providing a level of rigidity suited to its touring programme, without the volume and more substantial construction of freeride-oriented boots.
70° range of motion for long ascents
For the ascent, La Sportiva states a generous 70° range of motion. The transition between walk and ski modes is handled by the Tilt-Lock Lite system, while the minimalist closure system reduces the number of components and operations required during transitions. The boot also features a FriXion Wave Alpine sole designed for sections on foot, together with La Sportiva’s WarmSole construction. A thermoformable liner and lightweight closure components complete a design clearly focused on lightweight ski touring.
Kilo XTR, Kilo and women’s versions
The Kilo family is now available in several variants offering different levels of construction and equipment. The Kilo XTR represents the most performance-oriented version of the family, with a particularly sporty positioning and a construction focused on the stiffness-to-weight ratio. The Kilo forms the core of the range, while La Sportiva also offers variants designed for different skier profiles. Women’s versions complete the family with specific sizes and configurations. Across the range, the Kilo philosophy remains the same: low weight, generous range of motion and minimalist construction, with differences in materials and equipment depending on the model.
