PRESENTATION OF THE TECNICA ZERO G TOUR PRO
The Tecnica Zero G Tour Pro is the flagship boot in Tecnica’s ski touring and freeride touring range. Thoroughly redesigned for 2024/2025, this generation remains in the collection with a construction aimed at skiers looking for a four-buckle touring boot combining relatively low weight with a distinctly sporty positioning.
A redesigned Zero G Tour platform
The Zero G Tour Pro features a redesigned shell incorporating Tecnica’s 3D Power Frame, developed to optimise stiffness in specific areas while removing material where it is less necessary. The four buckles have also been redesigned and repositioned to simplify operation and shell closure. The geometry has evolved compared with the previous generation, with forward lean increased by 1.5°. Tecnica has also reworked the heel anatomy and cuff design. According to the brand, these changes provide 10% more mobility when walking, while the wider opening makes getting into and out of the boot easier. Changes to the cuff, shell and sole have also reduced weight. The Zero G Tour Pro has a stated weight of 2,580 g per pair in size 26.5, around 100 g less than the previous generation.
Eco-design and recycling
Tecnica also includes the Zero G Tour Pro in its eco-design approach. The brand states that it is working to reduce CO₂ emissions associated with production, replacing PVC with PU and using selected recycled materials, including recycled Lycra in the liner and recycled aluminium in the buckles. The Recycle Your Boots programme complements this approach, with a QR code providing information on the different components to facilitate recycling at the end of the boot’s life.
Zero G Tour Pro, Zero G Tour Scout and women’s versions
The Tecnica Zero G Tour range extends beyond the Tour Pro, with several versions based on the same platform but using different materials, flex ratings and equipment. The Zero G Tour Pro is the highest-end and stiffest model in the family, notably featuring a carbon-reinforced cuff and a construction aimed at the sportier end of the range. The Zero G Tour Scout follows the same overall architecture but uses a cuff without carbon and has a softer stated flex. Its weight remains close to the Pro, while its price is around €100 lower. Tecnica also offers women’s versions of the Zero G Tour Pro and Zero G Tour Scout, based on the same platform with specific characteristics. With the Zero G Tour Pro, Zero G Tour Scout and their women’s versions, Tecnica offers several levels of stiffness and equipment around the Zero G Tour platform. The family covers the brand’s versatile ski touring and freeride touring segment, between lighter touring boots and models with a construction much closer to alpine skiing.
