OUR REVIEW OF THE TECNICA ZERO G TOUR PRO BOOT
★ SKI RANDO MAG SELECTION 2026
Tecnica updates its flagship model, the Zero G Tour Pro, after many seasons on the clock. We stick to the same concept with improvements that go in the right direction. The shell is now equipped with a 3D structure called Power Frame to achieve more rigidity, which is confirmed on the field even if the difference is not huge. That said, this model was already at the top of the basket for downhill performance compared to its weight. This remains the case with good rigidity and a fairly uniform flex for the weight. The 4 buckles and the strap clearly make the difference. The weight has also been slightly revised downwards: about a hundred grams less on our scale (2620g in 26.5 for 2580g announced). There are also several improvements in terms of ergonomics and comfort. On the field, the Zero G Tour Pro is clearly more forgiving than before and this new version will allow a wider range of skiers to use it. In terms of ergonomics, we remain on a product that requires time on transitions compared to other boots of this weight. The buckles associated with cables are not the most practical to handle with gloves not to mention that there are 4. Weight, performance, and ergonomics, you can’t have it all. Putting on the boot remains quite difficult even if it has been slightly improved. “Wallet” constructions are always more difficult to put on than others. A positive point on ergonomics nonetheless, the top strap is better designed than before and no longer loosens during the descent. This new version strengthens Tecnica in the category of lightweight but high-performance downhill boots and should remain a reference in the coming years.

MANUFACTURER’S OPINION
The Zero G Tour Pro, Tecnica’s iconic boot, has been revised for the 2024/2025 season. It features a new design, a 3D “Power Frame” shell, and redesigned hooks for better handling. The boot is tilted an additional 1.5 degrees forward compared to the previous version, improving its orientation for descent. The hooks are positioned in an optimized manner, making it easier to close the shell. Anatomical adjustments at the heel and a new cuff design offer a 10% increased walking comfort, with a higher entry for easier setup according to the brand. Lightness has been enhanced by some improvements. The cuff, overall material, and sole have been refined. With only 2580g per pair announced in 26.5, the Zero G Tour Pro is about 100 grams lighter than the previous model.
Tecnica also emphasizes sustainability with the integration of an eco-design. CO2 emissions are analyzed and reduced, PVC is replaced by PU, and recycled materials are used, such as the lycra inside the boot and the aluminum of the hooks. The “Recycle Your Boots” project aims for a circular economy, with QR codes providing important information on the recyclability of product parts at the end of its first life cycle.
The Zero G Tour Pro is also available in the Zero G Tour Scout with a non-carbon cuff and a slightly softer flex. The weight is identical but the price drops by a hundred euros. These two models are also available in a women’s version.
