This ski is the same as the old VTA 88 lite except for a new design. With a weight of 2.2kg per pair in 180cm, the Volkl Rise High 88 is one of the lightest skis in its category. It is therefore no surprise that it is very pleasant on the ascent and can be taken on large elevation gains. However, we were pleasantly surprised by its performance on the descent for a ski of this weight. The Rise High 88 is stable even in deep snow and holds the curve well. It is even at high speed that it is most efficient! On the downside, it is not very playful, especially at low speed, and its potential is found by “pushing” a bit.
The Volkl Rise High 88 is identical to the old VTA 88 lite except for an updated design. This ski is a very lightweight model, a purebred touring ski. With its 88mm underfoot, it is a modern, high-performance ski that makes no compromises on the descent. This model is impressive due to its ultra-light weight (2.2kg per pair in 180cm), a very light construction that will require more care than a normal ski. It provides unparalleled performance for demanding skiers. Like all skis in the Völkl Touring Alpine range, this model features Ice Of Top-sheet technology, which prevents snow from sticking to the ski surface.
