OUR REVIEW OF THE STONE TOPO SPLITBOARD SELECTION 2026
A nice board on all fronts, with a very cool design as a bonus. The board that will surely please the majority, even if larger builds and more technical riders may not necessarily find it suitable. We tested it in all conditions, from steep to bumpy slopes, from couloirs to powder, and the behavior is good on all terrains. Good glide, sufficient grip, good float in powder, pleasant and quick handling, it’s the snowboarder who chooses how to ride it and not the other way around. It’s very reassuring in touring where you always have to keep a margin and save your energy. Despite the lack of responsiveness for more meticulous riders, it’s overall a good versatile and accessible board. The latest version of the Stone Topo splitboard released last season is lighter without compromising performance. The weight/price ratio is quite crazy! This season the Topo is offered in 2 additional sizes: 150 and 160cm: a good evolution that will satisfy larger builds and those who want to go big! This board also has very practical notches to accommodate the STONE branded skins, the Stony.
It’s a good compromise, We designed it for Unisex use. The trend is to shorten the boards but keep a good width, this shape is unique & will leave you dreaming also in carving. We love freeride more than anything, as you may have noticed many of our boards are intended for this practice, so we decided this year to also lighten our splitboards while maintaining the same rigidity by playing on the thickness of the core. Losing a few hundred grams is never trivial. We fall below 3 KG, to be honest, it feels on the ascent! It’s very appreciable. Conversions will be even easier. Camber detail: Hybrid Camber + RockerNo need to explain why we use this camber on splitboards. The flex plays a lot in the movement of the skis on the ascent, it all depends on where you climb, it can be dangerous if the camber is too pronounced. A classic camber that pulls flat is a Hybrid Camber, that’s what we developed among other things on our little TOPO. We chose to offer a 7200 sintered base because this base is ultra-performing. The design is quite simple to facilitate repair in case of a snag on a rock. The base is factory waxed, however, if you love to glide hard, it would be happy if you wax it again. The more you wax a split, the better the glide, it’s important for us to remind you.
