Stone Snowboards Topo Splitboard

OUR REVIEW OF THE STONE TOPO SPLITBOARD SELECTION 2027

The Topo stays true to its original philosophy: an accessible, versatile splitboard that delivers plenty of fun in virtually any snow conditions without breaking the bank. Now available in four sizes with the addition of a 165 cm version, it better accommodates larger riders or those looking for a little more stability at speed. Its outstanding weight-to-price ratio makes it even more attractive, especially since every Stone splitboard now comes equipped with the Floorboard System.

FFrom the very first turns, the board inspires confidence with its well-balanced medium flex, predictable handling and intuitive feel. On the ascent, its low weight and balanced shape make long tours less demanding while helping conserve energy. As with any board offering good float, it remains fairly wide. On firm sidehills during the climb, you’ll occasionally need to pay a little more attention to your balance, but nothing out of the ordinary—its uphill behavior is very much in line with most two-piece splitboards.

On the descent, the Topo feels composed and enjoyable in almost every type of snow. It offers good glide, intuitive handling and a playful character. It truly shines in softer conditions, whether fresh powder or spring slush. In powder, the generous nose provides excellent float with a lively, surf-inspired feel. It absorbs terrain well and remains stable as speed increases, without being an all-out charger. Edge hold is more than adequate for confident riding, although more aggressive riders may wish for a little extra energy and precision. It may not be the most hard-charging splitboard for steep terrain, but it has very few real weaknesses elsewhere. An excellent entry point into modern splitboarding for riders looking for simplicity, versatility and maximum enjoyment whenever the snow is good.
