OUR REVIEW OF THE BLIZZARD ZERO G LT 80
The Blizzard Zero G LT80 is a high-performance touring ski for its weight and category. At less than 2kg per pair in 171cm (2300g in 178), the Zero G LT 80 is one of the lightest in this width, yet it is possible to push it. At high speed, it is quite stable, even in powder, with very decent flotation. Of course, you feel that you have an ultra-light ski on your feet with little inertia, but skiers in good shape will be able to push this ski quite far. The grip is rather good and the behavior in carving is pleasant: perfect when conditions are spring-like. On the ascent, given the weight and the narrow waist, you can guess that it works well! In short, a good choice for experienced skiers looking for an ultra-light ski with which it is possible to push. Others will have to ski slower or choose a heavier model!
MANUFACTURER’S OPINION
The Zero G range expands with a model at 80mm at the waist: the Blizzard Zero G LT 80. Blizzard introduces a new “Trueblend” construction on this ski with a Paulownia core that has a higher density at the waist for a stiffer flex, while the density is lower in the tip and tail resulting in a softer flex. This core is coupled with a construction of unidirectional carbon fibers that, according to Blizzard, provide a solid but not too stiff ski. The Zero G LT 80 will weigh less than a kilo per foot (1960g per pair exactly in 171cm) and will be available in 5 sizes as well as a women’s version: 150, 157, 164, 171, and 178cm. Dedicated skins are available as an option and the ski is made in Austria.
