ATK Raider 10 SL

OUR REVIEW OF THE ATK RAIDER 10 & 12 SL BINDING

MANUFACTURER’S OPINION

The ATK Raider 10 SL and Raider 12 SL bindings are high-end models designed for ski tourers seeking an optimal combination of lightness, performance, and safety. Made with high-quality materials such as aerospace aluminum, stainless steel, and polyoxymethylene (POM), they offer a construction that is both lightweight and durable, ensuring excellent reliability in the mountains. The Raider 10 SL model, with a DIN setting of 4 to 10 and a weight of about 290 grams per binding, is particularly suitable for light to intermediate skiers, while the Raider 12 SL, with a DIN setting of 5 to 12 and a weight of 305 grams per binding, is aimed at intermediate to advanced skiers seeking enhanced performance.

Both bindings are compatible with ski touring boots that comply with ISO 9523 standards and are equipped with brakes available in several widths (86 mm to 120 mm), thus offering adaptability to different types of skis. They incorporate several innovative features such as the Easy Entry System, which facilitates entry into the binding even with worn boots, and the Cam Release System, which ensures precise heel release for better reliability on descent. The Elastic Response System allows for effective shock absorption, while the Snow Pack Proof prevents the accumulation of snow and ice under the binding, maintaining optimal performance in all conditions. The Magneto Heel Flaps offer a quick and easy transition between climbing and descending positions thanks to their magnetic system, and the integrated rear brakes provide additional safety when stopping.

The ATK Raider 10 SL and 12 SL bindings are particularly suited for ski tourers who prioritize efficient climbing without sacrificing safety and performance on descent. They are suitable for both ski mountaineering enthusiasts and experienced freeriders operating on varied terrains, including steep and technical slopes. Their lightness reduces fatigue on the ascent, while their robust construction ensures great reliability and long-term durability. The Raider 10 SL model is perfect for lighter or intermediate skiers, while the Raider 12 SL is aimed at intermediate to advanced skiers seeking high performance. In short, these bindings represent ideal options for demanding ski tourers and freeriders, offering an excellent balance between weight, robustness, and versatility for an optimized skiing experience.
