Salomon Ski Touring Boots

For the 2026/2027 season, Salomon offers a particularly broad range of ski touring boots, from models dedicated to touring and big vertical days to freeride touring boots with a construction closer to alpine skiing. The range is primarily structured around the MTN Summit, MTN Pure, Shift Alpha BOA and Shift Supra BOA families, with different constructions and fit volumes designed for different types of use.

Salomon MTN Summit: the dedicated touring range
The MTN Summit family represents Salomon’s range specifically developed for lightweight ski touring and touring. Its minimalist construction, ski/walk mechanism and generous freedom of movement clearly distinguish it from the more freeride-oriented Shift models. The range is headed by the S/LAB MTN Summit, the highest-end and most technical version. It is joined by the MTN Summit Pro and MTN Summit, which follow the same philosophy with different constructions and levels of equipment. Women’s versions also complete the family.

Salomon MTN Pure: a versatile ski touring boot
The MTN Pure complements Salomon’s touring range with a construction dedicated to ski touring. It features a walk mode, lightweight architecture and tech inserts for pin bindings. Its positioning places it between the strongly touring-oriented Summit family and the Shift boots, which are much closer to the freeride segment.

Salomon Shift Alpha BOA: freeride touring with a precise fit
The Shift Alpha BOA is one of Salomon’s two main freeride touring families. It features a 98 mm last, 55° range of motion and a three-buckle + strap construction, with a BOA system on the lower shell. The range includes the S/LAB Shift Alpha BOA at the top of the family, along with the Shift Alpha BOA 130, 120 and 110. These different versions offer several levels of flex and construction while retaining a relatively close-fitting internal volume.

Salomon Shift Supra BOA: 102 mm for more volume
The Shift Supra BOA follows the same freeride touring philosophy as the Shift Alpha but features a roomier 102 mm last. It retains a 55° range of motion, BOA closure and three-buckle + strap architecture. The family includes the Shift Supra S BOA 130, Shift Supra BOA 120 and Shift Supra BOA 100, with flex ratings ranging from 100 to 130. It therefore provides an alternative to the Shift Alpha for skiers looking for greater internal volume.

With the S/LAB MTN Summit, MTN Summit Pro, MTN Summit and MTN Pure covering touring, and the Shift Alpha BOA and Shift Supra BOA covering freeride touring, the Salomon ski touring boot range for 2026/2027 spans very different programmes, from long ascents on skins and big vertical days to freeride skiing with touring access.
