Salomon Ski Touring Bindings

Discover Salomon’s range of ski touring bindings, designed to meet the needs and demands of adventurous mountain skiers.
Salomon offers a fairly complete range of touring bindings, from freeriders to classic ski tourers. Here’s an overview of the different options available:

Salomon Shift:
The Shift enters its version 2 this season with relatively minor updates. At the front, the sliding plate under the boot has been improved. This part, called the Power Block adjustable AFD, is now made of aluminum for increased lateral stiffness and better power transfer. Still at the front, the oversized wings and redesigned toe lever provide greater reinforcement, improving shock resistance, durability, and reliability. The heel has also been reinforced following user feedback. The weight remains almost identical.
The Shift binding is highly appreciated by freeriders for its innovative concept, allowing skiers to climb with low-tech inserts at the front and descend with a true alpine binding. It offers simple handling with front pins that transform into a toe piece, while the heel functions in a classic way. It delivers a secure and solid step-in, reliable performance, and unmatched comfort compared to traditional low-tech bindings. However, its higher weight can be a drawback for extended use outside ski resorts.

Salomon MTN:
The MTN binding is designed for skiers who prioritize lightness and efficiency during ascents. The MTN binding comes in different versions, offering DIN adjustment options and compatibility with ski brakes.
The new generation of the Salomon MTN Summit (also known as the Atomic Backland Summit), released for the 2023/2024 season, brings some interesting improvements, despite an overall similar look, weight, and ski brakes. The MTN Summit (or Backland Summit) now offers heel gap adjustment between boot and binding, lateral DIN release adjustment, and improved materials. Available in different versions, it provides options tailored to various levels of practice and preferences, with weights ranging from 590 g to 790 g per pair.
