Marker Ski Touring Bindings
Marker, historically known for its alpine and freeride bindings such as the famous Duke, has successfully diversified its range in recent seasons with lighter models aimed at pure ski touring, while maintaining a strong presence in the freeride-touring segment.
Marker’s touring range now relies on three complementary models.
The Alpinist, light and minimalist, remains a safe bet for skiers looking for uphill performance and reliability.
Just above it, the Cruise (launched in 2023/2024) positions itself as a more comfortable and functional version, with full DIN adjustment (horizontal and vertical), two climbing heel risers, self-locking ski brakes, and a lighter toe piece that requires less force to step into. It is available in version 10 (DIN 4–10) or 12 (DIN 6–12), weighing 950 g per pair.
Finally, the Alpinist FREE, launched in 2024/2025, rounds out the range with a light freeride-touring approach: a wider toe piece, easier to step into with freeride touring boots, a DIN up to 13, and a 105 mm brake to fit wider skis. Weight: 900 g per pair.
On the freeride-touring side, the Kingpin remains a market reference with its powerful heel unit and solid uphill/downhill balance. For those seeking even more downhill performance, the Kingpin V-Werks takes things further with lighter materials and a premium construction.
Finally, for skiers focused 100% on the descent, the Duke PT remains the ultimate weapon: a hybrid model, with pin inserts for the ascent and a full alpine binding for the descent, in the same spirit as the Salomon Shift. Extremely powerful on the way down, it remains heavy on the climb, making it better suited for big skiers seeking thrills rather than long tours.
For the 2025/2026 season, no new models are announced, but the Marker range remains solid, consistent, and well segmented between light touring, freeride touring, and aggressive downhill skiing.
