PRESENTATION OF THE LANGE CODE
The Lange CODE is a new range of boots designed for freeride and freerando, developed for skiers who seek a construction close to an alpine boot while having a walk mode for approaches and skinning uphill. It thus complements the Lange offer with a positioning clearly oriented towards skiers who prioritize a robust construction and significant support rather than seeking minimal weight.
The CODE adopts a four-buckle construction, complemented by a strap on the top of the cuff. Its architecture and ski/walk mechanism are designed to switch from a downhill-focused configuration to one offering more mobility for walking. This positioning makes it primarily intended for freerando, skinning access from ski lifts, and routes where the uphill phases remain secondary to the descent.
The range is available in several flex and fit volumes. Lange notably distinguishes the LV (Low Volume) versions, intended for narrow feet and those seeking a more snug fit, and the MV (Medium Volume) version, offering more internal volume.
Lange CODE 140 PRO LV
The CODE 140 PRO LV is the version with the highest flex in the range. Its flex 140 is combined with a Low Volume fit, positioned for skiers seeking a very stiff boot and a snug fit. It features the ski/walk mechanism and four-buckle construction of the CODE family.
Lange CODE 130 PRO LV
The CODE 130 PRO LV retains the Low Volume fit but adopts a flex 130. It follows the same freeride/freerando philosophy with a slightly lower announced stiffness than the 140. This version targets skiers seeking a boot with a sporty construction, reduced internal volume, and a walk mode for approach phases.
Lange CODE 120 PRO MV
The CODE 120 PRO MV differentiates itself with its Medium Volume fit and flex 120. It thus offers an alternative to the two LV versions for skiers seeking more internal volume or a less pronounced announced stiffness. It retains the construction and ski/walk system characteristic of the new CODE range.
With the CODE 140 PRO LV, CODE 130 PRO LV, and CODE 120 PRO MV, Lange offers a range of freerando boots available according to the level of flex and fit volume. A family that stands out from lightweight ski touring boots by a design directly inspired by alpine boots and a program mainly focused on freeride, off-piste, and freerando.
