Its intelligent design makes it easy to step in, even blindly, thanks to the Step-In Side Towers and the extra-wide support surface that ensure a simple and intuitive entry into the binding. A titanal front stop keeps the boot at the height of the tips, further facilitating stepping in. The “icebreaker” tips effectively expel accumulated snow and ice from the inserts. The toe piece, designed to break ice and snow when stepping in, allows you to immediately tackle the next ascent or descent.
On the descent, the Ridge binding ensures excellent force transmission to the ski, guaranteeing performance, safety, and reliability with lateral and vertical release values in a DIN range of 4 to 12. The longitudinal pressure, with a travel of 7 mm, maintains stability and release precision even when the ski is heavily flexed.
The handling of the Ridge is facilitated by numerous additional details and features. The new patented ski stopper eliminates any handling errors, automatically activating in Ski mode and locking in Walk mode from the first step. The Excenter on the toe piece and the two climbing aids are easily operated with a ski pole. The second aid automatically positions itself as soon as the first is folded down, making access even easier.
The Ridge binding can also be used with crampons, essential when the snow becomes hard or icy. The new Quick-In axis crampons can be attached laterally or from above, the latter option being the fastest and easiest, especially in steep and technical terrain.
