OUR REVIEW OF THE INWILD LINEA BINDING
Inwild β the new name of French telemark specialist The M Equipment (known for the Meidjo) β enters the ski touring world with a clear promise: a lightweight, functional, and easy-to-use binding. The Linea perfectly embodies this vision, with 100% French design, manufacturing, and assembly in the Alpine arc. From the very first use, itβs clear that the Linea was built for simplicity. At the toe, stepping in is extremely easy β positioning is intuitive, and engagement requires very little effort. The front lever switches smoothly between ascent and descent modes, and its shape allows easy manipulation with a pole. Another strong point: the toe design effectively limits snow buildup β a real advantage in winter conditions. On the ascent, in addition to the flat mode, two risers (7Β° and 11Β°) offer comfortable management of steep climbs and can be adjusted effortlessly, even with a pole. At the heel, switching between modes is straightforward β just rotate the heel unit. In uphill mode, the ski brake locks automatically with the first step and releases automatically when rotating the heel for descent. Its operation is simple and ergonomic, while providing solid ski retention when deployed. For downhill performance, Inwild has opted for adjustable lateral release (4β11) and a fixed vertical release, modifiable by swapping the U spring (4, 6, 8, 10, 12). A compression spring compensates for ski flex and maintains constant contact between the boot and binding. After several outings in various conditions (hardpack, powder, wide skis, high speeds), the verdict is clear: the Linea performs flawlessly. No play, no accidental release β the binding remains stable, reliable, and confidence-inspiring even under pressure. The 30 mm length adjustment range (equivalent to 6β8 boot sizes) also makes boot changes easy. The Linea is a simple, efficient, and well-engineered binding focused on reliability and ease of use. With its excellent feature-to-price ratio, smooth step-in, and French-made construction, itβs a standout option for those seeking a serious touring binding without breaking the bank.

MANUFACTURER’S OPINION
The French manufacturer Inwild, formerly The M equipment, known in particular for its Meidjo telemark bindings, is seriously entering the ski touring bindings market. The brand new Linea binding is quite well positioned in terms of weight with 545g per pair without ski brakes and 630g with ski brakes. The manufacturer promises easy step-in and precise hold thanks to the patented low-tech mechanism. The Linea has 2 climbing aids (0 / 7Β° / 11Β°). The lateral release setting is DIN 4 to 11 while the frontal release setting is offered with 5 interchangeable ‘U’: 4 – 6 – 8 – 10 – 12. It is possible to adjust the binding length over a range of 30 mm, compatible for 6 to 8 boot sizes. An automatic ski brake is available as an option and can be added or removed without unscrewing the binding from the ski. It is also worth noting a French manufacturing on the alpine arc: design, manufacturing, and assembly.
The design and industrialization of Linea have been supported by ADEME to integrate eco-design, with the support of the Ecodesign Center and RevalueSystems. The project team optimized technical choices in terms of materials, manufacturing, and durability. This approach reflects Inwild’s commitment to a ski binding with low environmental impact, while ensuring performance, safety, and ease of use. β¬389 including tax without ski brakes and β¬439 including tax with.
