MANUFACTURER’S OPINION G3 ION
The long-awaited freerando insert binding! Simple, intuitive, efficient, powerful, and innovative, the G3 ION is not just nice to look at. Astonishingly easy to step into, thanks to its “step-in guidance,” it also innovates with its sliding heel piece, a longitudinal spring absorbs pressures and compensates for the ski’s flex, like an alpine binding. Its wide front toe piece manages energy transfer to the edges very well. In climbing position, its heel piece rotates in both directions. Simple and effective, its 2 climbing aids, flip-flop type, are easily maneuverable with a pole. A wide channel allows snow and ice to be evacuated from the front toe piece, preventing interference with the locking/unlocking of the boot. The base of the binding is wider to solve the risk of tearing out. The crampons (optional) can be attached very simply, without having to unclip. Its release values are between 5-12 DIN. With its 585g (with brakes), the ION binding becomes the essential free rando binding!
