OUR TEST OF THE DYNAFIT BLACKLIGHT 88 W

MANUFACTURER’S OPINION

The DYNAFIT Blacklight 88 weighs only 1140g on the scale at 172cm, with a waist width of 88mm. The name Blacklight is a combination of the color black, which among other things refers to the 100% carbon, and the suffix light – for a very light ski with brilliant performance on the snow. The Blacklight 88, the lightest option among DYNAFIT’s all-round skis, meets the expectations of experienced tourers looking for an agile and manageable model for all terrains and all snow conditions. The ski has a 100% UD carbon upper belt. The UD acronym indicates a unidirectional arrangement of carbon fibers which, compared to a classic carbon construction, offers greater tensile strength and greater load capacity for a lower mass. The Blacklight 88 is equipped with a 100% paulownia wood core and a 3D construction, which lightens the ski and reduces the inertia effect in front of and behind the binding area. The ski is thus very stable on the snow despite its reduced weight. The side geometry and the rocker shape at the tip and tail are adapted to the length of the ski, a unique feature on the touring market. The proportion of edge in contact with the snow always remains the same, ensuring balanced downhill performance, regardless of the length of the ski. To ensure the best possible transmission of forces from the skier to the snow, the model is constructed with ABS sidewalls along the entire length. The ski base benefits from a special competition structure, for maximum glide and speed on the descent. *Bindings not included in the price
