Dalbello Cabrio Lv Free LITE

OUR REVIEW OF THE DALBELLO CABRIO LV FREE 130 LITE BOOT

Dalbello replaced its famous Lupo with the Cabrio last season with a shell construction system in 3 distinctive elements, easy to put on. Many improvements have been made such as a lower position for the foot to be more in contact with the snow, a forward lean adjustment, a new locking system, and a quick buckle for the strap. The only downside, contrary to what we wrote last season, the tongue is no longer removable. A shame because it allowed for a very significant range of motion compared to downhill performance at the cost of a little extra transition time. That said, it is still possible to remove the tongue by removing the screw that holds it and simply securing it with the buckles. We were able to test the Cabrio Free Lite on the ascent this way and it works just as well as with the old version. The weight remains quite significant but is rather contained compared to the exceptional downhill performance. Indeed, it is clearly among the best and we found the flex and behavior even a bit better than the old version for the same weight. The boot deforms very little with a flex of 130 widely respected for once but remains very homogeneous and progressive. If you don’t want to compromise on the descent while having some comfort on the ascent at the cost of average ergonomics, this is the right product!
The Cabrio Free range, which has inserts unlike the classic Cabrio, is available in 4 versions:

  • Cabrio Free 130: the stiffest version, 3800g per pair in 26.5
  • Cabrio Free Lite: a lighter version at 3580g per pair in 26.5. A weight similar to the old Lupo AX 120
  • Cabrio Free 120: version with a softer flex, 3800g per pair in 26.5
  • Cabrio Free 105 W: women’s version

MANUFACTURER’S OPINION

CABRIO LV FREE 130 LITE: The perfect blend of performance and ease

The ski boot brand has announced the release of its latest model, the CABRIO LV FREE 130 LITE, which promises to push the limits in terms of performance and ease of use. This new generation freeride boot features a Cabrio architecture that offers excellent stability on uneven terrain, as well as great flexibility and increased accessibility.

One of the main innovations of the CABRIO LV FREE 130 LITE is its improved buckling system, combined with a redesigned tongue geometry. This allows for more intuitive tightening, providing a precise and secure fit. Additionally, the position and inclination have been redesigned for more effective closure, and a locking system has been added to ensure reliable closure.

The CABRIO LV FREE 130 LITE also benefits from the brand new Dynalink buckle, combined with the Dynalock, thus offering a better connection between the boot and the foot. The lower position of the new cabrio also improves contact with the snow, providing an optimal sense of control.

In terms of comfort, the CABRIO LV FREE 130 LITE features a new generation of liners: the 3Density Wrap (3DW) technology. This innovative liner construction and molding use recycled materials, such as recycled PU and recycled polyester. This not only offers improved mechanical properties but also a more sustainable and environmentally friendly approach.

The shape of the tongue has also been redesigned, with a specific rib geometry offering an incredibly progressive forward flex. This facilitates boot handling and improves interaction with the shell.

For optimal customization, the boot fitting process has been simplified through the use of thermoformable foams. The Wrap 3Density (3DW) liner quickly adapts to the feet, offering a precise and comfortable fit in just 4 minutes with a blower.

The CABRIO LV FREE 130 LITE is also equipped with a new tubular booster system, combined with a quick-release mechanism. The compact design of the tubular elastic offers a sleek aesthetic, while the quick-release hook allows for faster and easier operations.

Finally, the forward lean can be adjusted in a simplified manner thanks to the forward lean adjustment method. The quick screw and nut device allows the cuff lean to be easily adjusted with a screwdriver, offering skiers a personalized fit ranging from 12Β° to 14Β°.

With the CABRIO LV FREE 130 LITE, skiers will benefit from a high-performance, comfortable, and easy-to-use boot, allowing them to push their limits on the slopes and fully enjoy their freeride experience. The CABRIO LV FREE 130 LITE is the ideal choice for skiers seeking versatility and optimal performance in all conditions.
