PRESENTATION OF THE K2 MINDBENDER
The K2 Mindbender BOA is a freeride and freeride touring boot designed for skiers looking to use the same boot for resort skiing and tours involving skin track access. For 2026/2027, K2 clearly positions the Mindbender between alpine and touring boots, combining a two-piece construction, walk mode and a range now largely built around the BOA Fit System.
BOA Fit System and 50° range of motion
The BOA Fit System replaces traditional buckles on the lower shell and provides micro-adjustable tension around the foot. The Mindbender also uses K2’s Powerlite Shell, with different shell thicknesses depending on the area. For touring, the Powerlock Spyne mechanism releases the cuff to provide 50° of range of motion, before locking the boot back into ski mode for the descent. The models also feature GripWalk soles.
Mindbender Team BOA, 130, 120, 110 and 100 BOA
For 2026/2027, the men’s range includes the Mindbender Team BOA, followed by the Mindbender 130 BOA, 120 BOA, 110 BOA and 100 BOA. K2 therefore offers several levels of stiffness around the same freeride touring concept. The Mindbender 120 BOA, for example, combines a stated 120 flex with the Powerlite Shell, BOA Fit System and 50° range of motion. The women’s range includes the Mindbender 115 BOA, 105 BOA, 95 BOA and 85 BOA.
With its 50° walk mode, BOA Fit System and two-piece alpine-inspired construction, the K2 Mindbender is primarily positioned as a freeride touring boot, placing greater emphasis on downhill-oriented construction than minimum uphill weight. It is designed for skiers looking to combine resort skiing, freeride and skin track access with the same boot.
