OUR REVIEW OF THE TRAB TR1 BINDING
MANUFACTURER’S OPINION
TRAB TR1, A POWERFUL, EFFICIENT, PRACTICAL BINDING. A ski binding that offers maximum control on descent. High-performing, easy to use in all conditions on ascent.
The Trab TR1 is a ski touring binding designed to offer exceptional control during descents. It is both efficient and practical, even in extreme conditions. Thanks to its metal structure, it generates a force that firmly holds the boot on the ski, thus eliminating the slippage often encountered with traditional pin binding systems, which leave a gap between the heel and the ski. The strong link between the boot and the ski ensures immediate power transmission, thus optimizing control and responsiveness.
The release systems, lateral on the front piece and frontal on the rear piece, are both adjustable and extremely powerful and efficient. The progressive clamping force of the front piece allows the skier to walk even when the lever is unlocked, releasing the ski in case of an avalanche. The ability to lock the front piece in icy conditions or unlock it in unstable snow is essential for safe skiing practice.
The brake activates automatically in descent mode and ascent mode. Easy and intuitive to use. By simply using a pole, without having to release the boot, it is possible to switch from ascent mode to descent mode and vice versa. This is essential to maintain control even in difficult conditions.
