OUR REVIEW OF THE ROSSIGNOL XV SPLITBOARD

MANUFACTURER’S OPINION

The Rossignol XV Splitboard, a pro model inspired by Xavier De Le Rue, is aimed at demanding riders who are fans of committed freeride. Designed with an Amptek Elite profile (combination of powerful camber underfoot and rocker at the ends), it offers sharp grip and stability at high speed, while maintaining good float and maneuverability in powder. The Reverse Super Directional structure, stiff under the front foot for directional control, softer towards the back, ensures power and responsiveness, even on varied terrain. Its GreenLight Pop wood core, reinforced with basalt, aramid, and fiberglass, ensures lightness, hold, and shock absorption.

On the snow, this XV Splitboard stands out for its exceptional edge hold, even on hard or icy snow, thanks to its rigid and technical construction. Riders highlight its incredible precision at high speed, its stability on rough terrain, and its ability to float the board in powder, although the stiffness can make it demanding to ride. Despite an “energetic” response that can sometimes surprise, it conveys a liveliness and responsiveness much appreciated in technical freeride.

Available in several lengths (156 to 165 cm wide), its medium turn radius (7.6 to 9 m) and 30 mm setback offer a good compromise between maneuverability in turns and float in the north face. The sintered 7500 base ensures glide and durability, ideal for long sessions in untouched terrain.

In short, the Rossignol XV Splitboard is a premium freeride machine, designed for committed descents, advanced to expert riders seeking precision, stability, and off-piste performance.
