Nitro Vertical splitboard

OUR REVIEW OF THE NITRO VERTICAL SPLITBOARD

MANUFACTURER’S OPINION

The Nitro Vertical splitboard is a board specially designed for high mountain enthusiasts, offering exceptional performance both uphill and downhill. With a directional shape, it features a wider nose and a narrower tail, ensuring better flotation in powder and increased stability on descents. Its Cam-Out Camber profile, which combines a classic camber underfoot with smoother transitions to the nose and tail, provides excellent grip and responsiveness while remaining maneuverable.

The intermediate flex of the Nitro Vertical allows a good balance between stiffness for technical descents and flexibility for ascents. The Powerlite core, made from ultra-light poplar wood, ensures strength and responsiveness without adding unnecessary weight. The bi-lite fiberglass laminate construction enhances durability while maintaining the board’s lightness.

This splitboard is equipped with a Speed Formula HD sintered base, offering excellent glide and requiring little maintenance, ideal for the varied conditions of the mountain. The wavy edges improve grip on hard and icy snow, thus enhancing safety and control.

The Nitro x Kohla clip system ensures a solid and play-free connection between the two halves of the splitboard, guaranteeing reliable and consistent performance. Additionally, the Nitro Vertical is compatible with pre-cut climbing skins, simplifying the transition from ascent to descent.

Nitro also incorporates sustainable and eco-friendly materials in the construction of the Vertical, minimizing its environmental impact. In summary, the Nitro Vertical Splitboard is designed for mountain touring enthusiasts, offering versatility and performance to explore the varied terrains of the backcountry with confidence and enjoyment.
