OUR REVIEW OF THE KORUA ESCALATOR PLUS SELECTION 2026
Korua is a unique brand in the snowboard industry. Their love for beautiful trajectories is immediately apparent as soon as you have one of their boards under your feet. A snow feel, fluidity, and a particular pleasure emerge from the first turns. With the Escalator model, their slogan “made for turning” transforms here into “made for touring.” It is truly a board oriented towards the mountain and long immersions at altitude. Its “2 skis” shape reminds us at first glance that most of the time in touring is spent climbing. Weight is therefore essential. Here, it’s a real treat to have a 162cm machine for a weight under 3kg. Especially since it is clearly not at the expense of the descent. The behavior is true to the brand, it will instantly put a smile on your face. The nose is immense and provides delightful buoyancy. It is ultra-comfortable at reduced speed as well as at a slightly faster pace. You will never suffer from it, it is truly the rider who decides the piloting. On the back, centered, or loading the front leg when you need to be a little more present, it tolerates everything. It smooths out hostile terrains well and will therefore be a perfect ally from top to bottom of the mountain, from steep slopes on hard snow, to fields of cold powder, ending with the forest or spring snow. It will give you confidence. A small downside, the “plus” behind its name which designates the lightweight construction, makes the board necessarily more fragile, but you can’t have it all. The weight/performance ratio remains enormous and makes this model a must with an ultra-sexy look, a bomb!
