Goodboards GB Split

OUR TEST OF THE GOODBOARDS GB SPLITBOARD

The German brand “handmade in Europe” already offered its GB split model in two versions, one wood with soft flex, the other in carbon more responsive. In 2020, they developed a pro model with Aurélien Routen (from the very high-quality web series Carpe Diem and whom you can find in an interview in our issue 40). Aurélien chose a model with a classic camber as opposed to the double rocker of the standard version, simply for more safety and grip in the steep. It’s not surprising when you know and follow his exploits on video. The board is therefore in his image with a fairly pronounced nose to float well in powder, a responsive flex to keep up the pace, and superb grip. The forest will not be its favorite playground but it still performs quite well in this area. In short, an all-terrain board. A tendency for punchy riding nonetheless but without being too exclusive. A plus for quality and ethics at GOOD, with high-quality materials, an ultra-solid base, artisanal manufacturing in Europe, in small quantities, and as eco-friendly as possible.

MANUFACTURER’S OPINION

Goodboards offers the GB Splitboard in two variants. A wood design variant with a softer flex, and a carbon variant, stiffer, for faster power transmission, more pop, and liveliness. Both variants are offered in rocker tip, which will provide excellent floatability. The long effective edge ensures very good grip, both for ascent and descent.
