Located at 2493 meters above sea level, in the heart of the Stelvio National Park, the Cesare Branca hut is a true institution of ski touring in the Italian Alps. Dominated by the iconic peaks of San Matteo (3,678 m), Tresero (3,594 m), and Cevedale (3,769 m), it offers a magnificent glacial setting and easy access to an infinite number of routes.
Access to the Branca refuge is easily done from the Forni parking lot (2,176 m) via a groomed track. This regular ascent, rarely problematic, allows you to reach the refuge regardless of the conditions or almost. It is one of the great assets of the area: you can arrive late, after a day on the road, and settle in quietly for a nice trip the next day.
